Schloss Linderhof, or the Linderhof Palace, is a remaining symbol of German royalty, as it was a residence of King Ludwig II. Inspired by the great Versailles, Schloss Linderhof is situated in a large and impressive garden that drew reference from the Italian Renaissance gardens. Inside the palace, there are many ornate details, such as an ivory chandelier and a carpet made from Ostrich feathers. Linderhof is also home to the Hall of Mirrors, creating the feeling that you are walking through a never-ending pathway.

Ein weiteres Highlight am Platzl, wie ihn die Münchner auch gerne nennen, ist das Hofbräuhaus Augustiner. Auf der Karte stehen hauseigene Bierspezialitäten und Gerichte aus der Küche Bayerns.
Munich is a winter and Christmas wonderland. The Christmas market on Marienplatz will be crowded, but it is a must-see. If you are into playing or watching the ice game of curling, check out the track in front of the Nymphenburg Palace. During Advent, hop aboard the Christmas tram (after buying a ticket!) to escape the cold. If the weather gets to be too cold, there are many spas in Munich, or you can also go to the Botanical Gardens. Take a 2-hour drive from the city to the highest mountain in Germany, the Zugspitze. Once there you can go hiking or skiing and enjoy the views. The roads within Munich can be traversed in a luxury sedan, but if heading out of the city, an SUV or 4-wheel-drive vehicle with winter tires is recommended. And be sure to check the availability of ski racks.

On this day in 1908, President Theodore Roosevelt declared the Grand Canyon a National Monument. “Let this great wonder of nature remain as it now is,” he said on a visit to the Grand Canyon in 1903. “You cannot improve on it. But what you can do is keep it for your children, your children’s children, and all who come after you as the one great sight which every American should see.” The Grand Canyon would become a National Park in 1919.
Im Zentrum von München befinden sich der Marienplatz und das Rathaus, von dessen Turm täglich das berühmte Glockenspiel ertönt. Eine weitere Kirche, die zu den Monumenten in München zählt, ist die Pfarrkirche St. Peter, im Volksmund Alter Peter genannt und ist die älteste Kirche der Stadt. Der Platz, auf dem der Alte Peter heute steht, gilt als der erste Siedlungskern der Stadt. Ein weiterer Anziehungspunkt für Touristen und Einheimische ist das bekannte und schon oft besungene Hofbräuhaus. Dort herrscht das ganze Jahr über eine Stimmung wie auf dem Oktoberfest. Es werden typisch bayerische Gerichte aufgetischt und zur Blaskapellenmusik lässt es sich gut schunkeln. Es lohnt sich nicht nur im Hotel zu essen, sondern den kulinarischen Empfehlungen in der Stadt zu folgen.
