However, the thing about long weekends is that we look forward to them so much but then dread going back to work at the end of it. We literally either go to bed or wake up with a sense of heaviness at the mere thought of having to go into to the office the next day.
TODAY IN HISTORY! On this day in 1908, President Theodore Roosevelt declared the Grand Canyon a National Monument. “Let this great wonder of nature remain as it now is,” he said on a visit to the Grand Canyon in 1903. “You cannot improve on it. But what you can do is keep it for your children, your children’s children, and all who come after you as the one great sight which every American should see.” The Grand Canyon would become a National Park in 1919.
Die Klimaanlage war ausgefallen (ausgerechnet in der heissesten Zeit). Das Hotel hat direkt angeboten, uns als Wiedergutmachung das Frühstück zu offerieren. Beim Auschecken mussten wir zudem nichts für den Parkplatz und die Getränke aus der Minibar bezahlen. Das war mehr als kulant und eine sehr positive Überraschung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und schön präsentiert.
