Im Zentrum von München befinden sich der Marienplatz und das Rathaus, von dessen Turm täglich das berühmte Glockenspiel ertönt. Nicht weit davon entfernt steht die Frauenkirche, das Wahrzeichen der Stadt. In einem Bürgerentscheid stimmten die Münchner ab, dass im Stadtgebiet kein Hochhaus mehr gebaut werden dürfe, das höher als die knapp 100 Meter hohen Türme der Frauenkirche sei. Eine weitere Kirche, die zu den Monumenten in München zählt, ist die Pfarrkirche St. Peter, im Volksmund Alter Peter genannt und ist die älteste Kirche der Stadt. Der Platz, auf dem der Alte Peter heute steht, gilt als der erste Siedlungskern der Stadt. Ein weiterer Anziehungspunkt für Touristen und Einheimische ist das bekannte und schon oft besungene Hofbräuhaus. Dort herrscht das ganze Jahr über eine Stimmung wie auf dem Oktoberfest. Es werden typisch bayerische Gerichte aufgetischt und zur Blaskapellenmusik lässt es sich gut schunkeln. Es lohnt sich nicht nur im Hotel zu essen, sondern den kulinarischen Empfehlungen in der Stadt zu folgen.

In der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt liegt sozusagen die Wiege der Biergartenkultur und das will auch entsprechend gewürdigt werden. Gerade in den Sommermonaten ist es durchaus üblich, auch geschäftliche Treffen in einen der vielen Biergärten zu verlegen. Auch hier ist Vorsicht geboten: In vielen Biergärten werden EC- oder Kreditkarte nicht akzeptiert. Besser ist es, immer genügend Bargeld dabei zu haben. Nichts ist peinlicher, als die eigene Zeche im Biergarten nicht zahlen zu können.
Der Englische Garten war sehr schön. Es hatte frisch geschneit und zeigte sich ein fröhliches winterliches Treiben dort. Kinder sind an einem Hang Schlitten gefahren und man wurde an vielen Stellen von freundlichen Schneemännern "begrüßt". Auch ein Besuch im Hofbräuhaus ist sehr empfehlenswert. Gerade auch weil dort so viele Touristen aus aller Welt einkehren und offensichtlich viel Spass an der bayerischen Lebensart haben. Wirklich lustig.

Ich finde München toll, weil München Großstadt und Dorf zugleich ist. Jedes Viertel ist wie seine ganz eigene Welt. Außerdem ist kaum eine Stadt so grün wie München. Keine 50 Meter hinter dem Ortsausgangsschild ist man dann in deiner persönlichen Provinz mit so vielen schönen Wäldern, Seen und Wiesen, so dass man die anderen 1,4 Mio Menschen aus der überfüllten U-Bahn vergisst. In München hat man alles!
Wir haben die Vorrundenspiele für die Handballweltmeisterschft in der Olypiahalle besucht. Der Olympiapark ist absolut besuchenswert, wir waren auf dem Fernsehturm mit herausragender Sicht, tollem Restaurant...haben Sealife besucht...und die Olympiahalle bei den 3 Spielen genossen.. Vorher Karlsplatz besucht und shoppen gewesen... Gegessen haben wir im Restaurant Asado Steak...alles super in München Laim und dann gibt es noch so viele tolle historische Gebäude zu besichtigen ..
