Aren't long weekend with friends and family great? Perhaps a backyard barbeque, a trip to the beach, or just some quiet time alone to caught up on your favorite show. However, the thing about long weekends is that we look forward to them so much but then dread going back to work at the end of it. We literally either go to bed or wake up with a sense of heaviness at the mere thought of having to go into to the office the next day.
Der Englische Garten war sehr schön. Es hatte frisch geschneit und zeigte sich ein fröhliches winterliches Treiben dort. Kinder sind an einem Hang Schlitten gefahren und man wurde an vielen Stellen von freundlichen Schneemännern "begrüßt". Auch ein Besuch im Hofbräuhaus ist sehr empfehlenswert. Gerade auch weil dort so viele Touristen aus aller Welt einkehren und offensichtlich viel Spass an der bayerischen Lebensart haben. Wirklich lustig.

Von der City aus gelangt man durch die gute Anbndung sehr schnell zurück ins gebuchte Hotel. Möchte man nicht nur hervorragend dinieren, sondern etwas ganz Besonderes erleben, sollte man sich einen Besuch mit Edelrestaurant 181 nicht entgehen lassen. Das Lokal befindet sich ganz oben im Olympiaturm, Spiridon-Louis-Ring 7, und kann gut mit dem Auto oder den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreicht werden. Das Restaurant dreht sich und bietet dank der großen Fensterfronten einen unvergesslichen Ausblick über München. Auf diese Weise lässt sich jeder Geschäftstermin in München mit einem echten Event verbinden.
Die Klimaanlage war ausgefallen (ausgerechnet in der heissesten Zeit). Das Hotel hat direkt angeboten, uns als Wiedergutmachung das Frühstück zu offerieren. Beim Auschecken mussten wir zudem nichts für den Parkplatz und die Getränke aus der Minibar bezahlen. Das war mehr als kulant und eine sehr positive Überraschung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und schön präsentiert.

During Advent, hop aboard the Christmas tram (after buying a ticket!) to escape the cold. If the weather gets to be too cold, there are many spas in Munich, or you can also go to the Botanical Gardens. Take a 2-hour drive from the city to the highest mountain in Germany, the Zugspitze. Once there you can go hiking or skiing and enjoy the views. The roads within Munich can be traversed in a luxury sedan, but if heading out of the city, an SUV or 4-wheel-drive vehicle with winter tires is recommended.
