Like many major German cities, Munich is considered to be a center for business in commerce in Europe. Munich is a winter and Christmas wonderland. The Christmas market on Marienplatz will be crowded, but it is a must-see. If you are into playing or watching the ice game of curling, check out the track in front of the Nymphenburg Palace. During Advent, hop aboard the Christmas tram (after buying a ticket!) to escape the cold. If the weather gets to be too cold, there are many spas in Munich, or you can also go to the Botanical Gardens. Take a 2-hour drive from the city to the highest mountain in Germany, the Zugspitze. Once there you can go hiking or skiing and enjoy the views. The roads within Munich can be traversed in a luxury sedan, but if heading out of the city, an SUV or 4-wheel-drive vehicle with winter tires is recommended. And be sure to check the availability of ski racks.
There is much to see and do in Munich the Bavaria region of Germany, and a car rental provides you the means to make it all possible. Visit the all the fantastic museums, shopping and dining destinations among other attractions. Visit the famous baroque palace of Nymphenburg and be sure to spend some time along the Isar. From Munich you can also take your rent a car on day trips to the beautiful lakes such as the Tegernsee or spend time near the Alps in the Chiemsee area.

Eine der begehrtesten Frauen Münchens finden Sie auf der Theresienwiese. Hier, wo alljährlich auch das Oktoberfest stattfindet, steht die Bavaria, die Schutzpatronin Bayerns. Zwar ist sie nicht aus Fleisch und Blut, sondern aus Bronze, für München-Besucher aber dennoch einen Ausflug wert. Die 18 Meter hohe Statue überblickt die Theresienwiese, hinter ihr erhebt sich die Ruhmeshalle. Der Kolossalbau ist berühmten Münchner Köpfen gewidmet; buchstäblich, denn die Säulenhallen werden von zahlreichen Büsten gesäumt. Wer hier zur Zeit des Oktoberfestes in der Nähe übernachten möchte, muss zeitig planen und genügend Budget mitbringen, denn der Preis für ein Zimmer in dieser Lage liegt hier deutlich über dem Jahresdurchschnitt.
Der Englische Garten war sehr schön. Es hatte frisch geschneit und zeigte sich ein fröhliches winterliches Treiben dort. Kinder sind an einem Hang Schlitten gefahren und man wurde an vielen Stellen von freundlichen Schneemännern "begrüßt". Auch ein Besuch im Hofbräuhaus ist sehr empfehlenswert. Gerade auch weil dort so viele Touristen aus aller Welt einkehren und offensichtlich viel Spass an der bayerischen Lebensart haben. Wirklich lustig.
