Keine 50 Meter hinter dem Ortsausgangsschild ist man dann in deiner persönlichen Provinz mit so vielen schönen Wäldern, Seen und Wiesen, so dass man die anderen 1,4 Mio Menschen aus der überfüllten U-Bahn vergisst. In München hat man alles!

Inspired by the great Versailles, Schloss Linderhof is situated in a large and impressive garden that drew reference from the Italian Renaissance gardens. Inside the palace, there are many ornate details, such as an ivory chandelier and a carpet made from Ostrich feathers. Linderhof is also home to the Hall of Mirrors, creating the feeling that you are walking through a never-ending pathway.

Top Service und sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Die Qualität der Speisen war ausgezeichnet. Das Zimmer war sehr gut. Ein technisches Problem wurde sofort und kompetent gelöst, absolute Spitzenklasse.
Der Englische Garten war sehr schön. Es hatte frisch geschneit und zeigte sich ein fröhliches winterliches Treiben dort. Kinder sind an einem Hang Schlitten gefahren und man wurde an vielen Stellen von freundlichen Schneemännern "begrüßt". Auch ein Besuch im Hofbräuhaus ist sehr empfehlenswert. Gerade auch weil dort so viele Touristen aus aller Welt einkehren und offensichtlich viel Spass an der bayerischen Lebensart haben. Wirklich lustig.
Die Klimaanlage war ausgefallen (ausgerechnet in der heissesten Zeit). Das Hotel hat direkt angeboten, uns als Wiedergutmachung das Frühstück zu offerieren. Beim Auschecken mussten wir zudem nichts für den Parkplatz und die Getränke aus der Minibar bezahlen. Das war mehr als kulant und eine sehr positive Überraschung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und schön präsentiert.

Munich is a winter and Christmas wonderland. The Christmas market on Marienplatz will be crowded, but it is a must-see. If you are into playing or watching the ice game of curling, check out the track in front of the Nymphenburg Palace. During Advent, hop aboard the Christmas tram (after buying a ticket!) to escape the cold. If the weather gets to be too cold, there are many spas in Munich, or you can also go to the Botanical Gardens. Take a 2-hour drive from the city to the highest mountain in Germany, the Zugspitze. Once there you can go hiking or skiing and enjoy the views. The roads within Munich can be traversed in a luxury sedan, but if heading out of the city, an SUV or 4-wheel-drive vehicle with winter tires is recommended. And be sure to check the availability of ski racks.
